The Lichfield Poets are inviting poets and wordsmiths to put their thinking caps on for their new competition. Poems, of a maximum length of 30 lines, on any topic, and in any style are invited, with a first prize of £100, a second prize of £50 and a third prize of £25.
The group was formed in 2006 and has released two fundraising anthologies. They have contributed to the Lichfield Mysteries, the Lichfield Festival, and performed at the Lichfield Garrick, and a number of other venues. Poetry Alight is the group’s popular and regular performance event. The three winners will be invited to perform at a suitable Poetry Alight event.

The closing date for the competition is Thursday April 17th. Entry fees of £3 per poem or £10 for four, with cheques being made payable to The Lichfield Poets.
Poems should be in English (or English dialect) and should not have been published or accepted for publication elsewhere, including in online publications.
Poems that have won or are under consideration in other poetry competitions are not eligible.
Poems should not be a translation of another author’s work.
Entrants must be over 18 years of age.

Entries should be accompanied by a separate cover page, which includes your name, address, telephone number and email address, plus a list of the title/s of the poem/s you are submitting.
