For our 2016 retreat we headed down the beautiful Heart of Wales railway line to the isolated hamlet of Cynghordy.
Our first meal in our new retreat!
In the middle of nowhere!
The Cynghordy Viaduct encased in scaffolding – it had it’s own beauty to it.
Intriguing from underneath!
‘Allo, ‘allo! What is going on here? Has there been … A MURDER?
It is a Cafe Resistance Murder Mystery Meal
Ooh la la!
Only a British stiff upper lip could handle that moustache!
Gee I Joe making a heart-felt plea
It was blooming nippy on Sunday morning!
Even the muck was steaming!
But it was gorgeous when we climbed out of the valley.
Practically perfect blue skies
Ey up, he’s got his rods out again.
Bryan and Di demonstrating they had too many Brussels sprouts last night.
There’s always one, isn’t there?
A ‘ladies only’ moment. (they too had plenty of Brussels sprouts.)
It wasn’t just writing on the retreat
See? the Chairman, he doesn’t just do tea and coffee at the meetings – he cooks on retreat too!
Revealing our costumes for the Cafe Resistance Murder Mystery!
Why, Gee I Joe, you do know that is ma sausage you are squeezing?
Vicki, the British Intelligence officer (with her own headphones).
The Motley crew all dressed up.
More Cynghordy muck spreading!
Cynghordy Station House (well, the old one, anyway)
Close Up – Cynghordy Viaduct
Scaffolding encasing most of Cynghordy Viaduct
Llandovery Bird Gathering
Remains found by Angeline and Sue while out walking.
