For our August meeting, we went travelling again, this time to Shrewsbury, to the venue of the Shropshire Wildlife Trust, which was adjacent to Shrewsbury Abbey, where our one-time President, Edith Pargeter, set her Brother Cadfael novels.
After having so much fun with a drumming workshop back in 2006, we decided it was time to bang those bongos one more time!
Somebody had the idea that for this December meeting we had to make our own Christmas-themed hats!

Why are we called Wrekin Writers? Because we meet in the shadow of The Wrekin. So it was time to conquer our namesake!

This one of the many Ironbridge Gorge Museums and well worth a visit.
In 2006 we headed off to what was once the Marquis of Anglesey’s Fishing Lodge, beside it’s own private lake (useful if the property was a fishing lodge), within sight of Snowdon. We all fell in love with the location of Castell Cidwm.
The 2005 Wrekin Writer Retreat headed a little further north from our 2004 retreat, into mid-Wales for our 2005 retreat at Builth Wells.
